GET TO KNOW THE STATE OF TLAXCALA MEXICO

Tlaxcala is a small state in central Mexico, east of Mexico City.

In the south, the Cacaxtla archaeological site displays colorful Mayan frescoes, while the nearby ruins of Xochitecatl include ancient pyramids.

Housed in a former convent beside the cathedral, the Regional Museum of Tlaxcala displays religious paintings and a collection of pre-Columbian artifacts. Southeast of the capital, La Malinche National Park has a dormant volcano and nature trails that are popular with hikers and mountain bikers.

Farm estates known as haciendas dot the province, including colorful Ex-Hacienda San BartolomƩ del Monte, which produces the agave-based pulque drink.
